About this vehicle: This particular 1969 El Camino was chosen as our basis for a complete restoration based off many important facts:
DRIVETRAIN:
ENGINE: New GM Factory Ramjet 350 c.i. fuel injected with electronic computerized ignition - 350 Horsepower (underrated) & 400 lbs. Torque.
TRANSMISSION: The trans upgraded to 2008 4L80E electronic 4 speed automatic with B&M shift kit & O.D. consul selector plate, trans crossmember modified & TCI poly mounts installed, TCI performance electronic computer control installed & system laptop tuned to owners requirements. TCI speedometer electronic to cable conversion box installed & programmed, stainless steel trans to radiator lines installed.
TORQUE CONVERTER: B & M 2500 stall converter heavy-duty lock-up.
STARTER MOTOR: 3.75:1 gear reduction -hi torque factory GM Performance.
DRIVESHAFT: Wenco - heat balanced & powdercoated in satin black with Spicer heavy-duty u-joints.
REAR END: original 12 bolt axle disassembled & housing sandblasted & painted in satin black, rebuilt with posi-traction dif., heavy-duty axles, “girdle” aluminum axle cover & assembled with Wilwood rear disc brake backing plates. & ½” lug bolts.
EXHAUST SYSTEM: Doug Hurley 1 & 5/8” with 2& ½ collectors - ceramic coated – tuned headers, 2.5” dual aluminized tubing with “X” pipe - run thru two 1 piece Flowmaster 40’s and run to rear sides then slash cut tips.
